Netherlands Conference on BioInformatics 2004 "Images of life"

October 7th - 8th 2004, Groningen.

Program & Registration

Symposium 'Bioinformatics at the Interface'

June 20th 2003, Utrecht.

Bioinformatics is gradually becoming an essential part of biochemistry and molecular biology. For this reason the Bioinformatics workgroup of the Dutch Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (NVBMB) organises her third annual symposium: "Bioinformatics at the interface" on June 20, 2003 in Utrecht, hosting a selection of national and international speakers who will discuss the latest developments in Bioinformatics.

Program & Registration

Symposium 'The Best of Both Worlds'

June 14th 2002, Wageningen.

In a varied program both the "bio" and the "informatics" points of view will be discussed. To improve the interaction, people from different fields will present their work. Antoine van Kampen and Rogier Versteeg of the AMC will speak about the Human Transcriptome Map. Some other speakers are Marcel Reinders (Genlab, TUD) and Bernard Mons (Medical Informatics, EUR and Collexis). After the lunch there is an extended poster session where all dutch bioinformatics researchers can present their work. In this symposium bioinformaticians will show how they can bring structure into the large amount of biological data that is available, what models are suitable to reduce large amounts of data to for biologists relevant parameters, and what are biologically relevant analysis methods for, for example, pattern recognition in genomes and gene expression data.

'Bioinformatics and the Internet, from genetic code to chemical application'

August 31st 2001, Eindhoven.

Session at the KNCV Summer Congress.
The amount of data in molecular life sciences has grown exponentially. Al this data is stored worldwide in databases of powerful computers. Bioinformatics is the scientific field that tries to mine this enormous amount of data and tries to find an answer to all kinds of chemical, biological and biomedical questions. A lot of the relevant research data is available through the internet, but is not always obvious how to find it and how to 'link' it. In this session will be illustrated, for a number of topics, how the accessibility of data through the WWW has had a crucial role in the clarification of the research question.

'Bioinformatics: Learning the tools and tricks of the trade'

August 31st 2000, Ede.

Section meeting at the KNCV Summer Congress, about Bioinformatics & Education.

Parallel session 'Data-mining complex genomes' during 'Nucleic Acids 2000'

May 15th 2000, Noordwijkerhout.

In collaboration with the CW-NWO study group Nucleic Acids.

Program

Oprichtingsvergadering KNCV Sectie Bioinformatica

Ocotober 15th 1999, Nijmegen.
